Before we started our editing, we had to go on YouTube and download the song MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE. Next we put the song into Final Cut Pro, so we could then start to put all of our footage into the video.

EDITING AND EXPORTING

During the chorus of the song in the video, we downloaded a video from YouTube of falling snow. Then we imported it into our video and we went onto the Compositing section of the editing. Next we clicked on Blend Mode and chose the Screen option. Doing this allowed us to erase the black background of the downloaded video , so all that was left was just a layer of snow which we were then able to place over the parts in the video.

When Molly and I filmed using the green screen, we had to use a keyer effect which allowed us the erase the green screen in the background of the video and replace it with our own choice of vide. We chose to use a snowy background as it gave us a nice effect to our video. Also we had to edit the video of us two and add little effects to give it the look that we were actually filming in the snowy forest.

Next we had to change the size of us on the video. To do this we had to change the X and Y sections to change the position of us (up/down and left/right). We also then had the adjust the scale of us. Doing all of this adjusting, allows us to make it seem as if we are actually there and gives it a realistic effect.

Within certain parts of the video, we added small sound clips. At the start of the video, we added some wind and birds clips during the animation/photo part. Doing this matched with the other footage right at the start of the video so it feels as if it flows a lot nicer, rather than the sound just cutting out. We also added some sound clips of children on a playground and also cheering from an audience, which gives a better effect.

Throughout the video, we added the colour correction effect to the footage. In these next 3 screenshots, it shows that we changed and adjusted the saturation of the videos. Doing this allowed us to make it seem warm and it also made the colours more vibrant so they stood out a lot more. Next we changed the colours, we were able to changes the tones of the shadows, midtowns, highlights and just overall. For example, choosing a blue tone will make the video seem colder, however using a red/orange/yellow tone it will make the video seem warm and sunny. Finally we were able to adapt the exposure, where we could change the highlights, midtowns, shadows and just over all. However, for example by increasing the highlights you will make it much lighter, by lowering the shadows they will get much darker. So overall by using all these effects, it allowed us to get our desired effect for our video.

On each of the green screen clips, we added the layer of snow, that we had previously used during the chorus parts, over us which gave it a better effect and made it seem more realistic by making it seem as if we were really there filming.

After editing our music video, we had to export it. To do this we to go to File - Share - Master File. We had to name our video and then we had to go into settings. We had to change the video codec to h.264, by doing this it reduce our file size massively however kept our quality of the video good.

Next, we decided to share the video on Youtube in order for us to be able to put our video on our website. We had to choose the quality however we kept it as the standard HD 720p as its still good however it helped to keep the file size of our video low, so it wouldn't take that long for the video to process and publish onto Youtube. Next we had to sign into our Youtube account in order for it to be shared.

Here are all the videos that we had to publish onto Youtube in order to be able to put it into this website. We have made them all private so none of the public can see them, so we wanted to keep it and them safe.
